Carlson CP65 Paver Debut At CONEXPO 2020

CP65New Paver Features Suite of Exclusive Technologies And Company’s First High
Compaction Screed

Carlson Paving Products, Inc., an Astec Industries company, unveiled the CP65 wheel asphalt paver at CONEXPO/CONAGG 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The introduction of the platform for the Western Hemisphere, the CP65 represents Carlson’s entry into the global asphalt paver market with its first every high compaction tamper bar screed.

“Carlson was excited to introduce the CP60 wheel asphalt paver, this paver’s sister model, at Bauma 2019,” explained Travis Colwell, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Carlson. “But the introduction of the CP65 here in Las Vegas, with its many standard features and tamper bar screed, truly is the introduction of Carlson to a global customer base.”

Long a pioneer in small paver platforms, the company has leveraged its technologies and philosophy into a global 1.8m paver model. The paver’s narrow width combined with impressive traction effort with standard Front Wheel Assist lend to leading versatility across a wide range of paving applications. Combined with exclusive technologies, including Carlson’s EZPaveTM dynamic pave speed control and onboard diagnostics, the CP65 delivers a smarter, more reliable and user friendly platform for contractors.

Unique to the CP65 wheel asphalt paver is its exclusive EZC34 TV high compaction screed. A single tamper bar platform, Carlson’s first entrance into the high compaction market, the EZC34 TV screed features a standard pave width of 5’10”-11’2” (1.8m-3.4m). The screed showcases many of Carlson’s leading technologies and screed characteristics, including the most slide bushing contact in the industry and oversized components for holding level longer than competitive platforms. Partnered with spring loaded heated endgates, power screed functions and deep screed plates, the EZC34 TV achieves the superior mat quality and reliability that customers around the world come to expect from a Carlson screed.

The CP65, as well as the CP60 wheel asphalt paver, are expected to be released for sale in Fall 2020 and available through Carlson’s dealer network across North America and internationally.

CP75 II Set To Take Center Stage At WOA

CP75 IICP75 II Set To Take Center Stage At WOA (World of Asphalt)

Carlson Paving Products, Inc. is set to shake up the wide conveyor commercial paver market again with the unveiling of the all-new 2019 CP75 II at World of Asphalt. Featuring all-new ergonomic controls and the choice of material conveyor systems, the new CP75 II joins Carlson’s leading line up of high performance and heavy duty commercial platforms for North American contractors.

The smallest paver of Carlson’s CP-line, the 17,000 lbs. CP75 II features a 74 horsepower Deutz® turbocharged diesel engine (No DEF) for superior performance and reliability. The platform features the wide-conveyor class’ only one-piece forward tilting hood, side doors and access panel in the hopper for leading access and simple service.

For operators, the 2019 model enhances ergonomics and simplifies operation with the all-new control stations. Screed mounted to keep relative to the operator at all times, the platform’s controls now feature electric switch controls, direct connect steering, and folding 4.5 inch LED display for up to the second information on performance and instrument gauges. The control groups are intuitively organized by function, providing full control of the platform at the fingertips of the operator.

Already a leader in eliminating under hopper cleanout and achieving superior efficiency, the CP75 II will now be available with the option of two material conveyor systems. Contractors will be able to choose between a traditional wide conveyor chain and slat system, or the patented High Flow Material ConveyorTM hybrid belt system, depending on their applications and needs. With a fully redesigned frame, the CP75 II does not require hydraulically lifting hoppers and thereby eliminates the daily cleanout required on competitive machines. Efficient material management is further gained by the class-exclusive horizontal sliding damper doors, a design that keeps obstructions such as utility boxes from damaging them while open.

Just like its highway-class screeds, renowned for their award-winning mat quality, Carlson has built in many of its industry-leading innovations and technology into the EZC815 commercial screed that is standard on the 2019 CP75 II. From its class-exclusive 2% screed taper, true spring loaded endgates, and a host of other features once reserved for highway-class screeds, the EZC815 achieves leading mat quality and performance in an 8’-15’ package.

In addition to the unveiling of the 2019 CP75 II, Carlson will also feature its full line of CP-line platforms with the CP85, CP100 II and CP130. Carlson will also feature some of its leading highway-class screed platforms available for all current North American tractors with the EZIV08 and EZR208, the Tacoma-based manufacturer’s newest rear-mount platform.

Carlson Announces The Release Of The EZR208

EZR208Carlson Announces The Release Of The EZR208 (at World of Asphalt)

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Carlson Paving Products, the industry’s leading manufacturer of asphalt paving screeds, announced the company’s newest platform: the EZR208. Unveiling the news at the 2018 World of Asphalt Show in Houston, TX, the 8-foot EZR2 completes the Tacoma-manufacturer’s lineup of rear-mount highway-class screeds available for all current North American paver models.

“The addition of the EZR208 to our line of highway-class screeds is a historic milestone for Carlson,” explained Chris Colwell, President of Carlson Paving Products, Inc. “The EZR210, released at World of Asphalt in San Antonio four years ago, has quickly established itself as the new rear-mount leader in the industry through its award-winning mat quality and exceptional wide width ability. With the introduction of the EZR208 platform, we are able to give the 8-foot rear-mount market the screed they have wanted.”

Featuring a standard paving width of 8’ to 15’6” and weighing 7,800 lbs., the EZR208 achieves superb mat quality and ride uniformity with its class-leading 20-inch deep, single piece screed plates. Providing more screeding surface area than competitive screeds, the EZR2’s screed plates not only achieve higher mat quality but also produce longer component lifecycle.

The EZR2’s screed plates are paired with state-of-the-art heating elements held in place by full length hold downs, providing even, efficient heat transfer to the upper surface of the plate. Like all Carlson screeds, the EZR2’s element hold downs all allow the ability to change out elements without the need to drop the plate.

Like its larger kin, the EZR208 is engineered with Carlson’s exclusive extension support system that provides unequalled strength even at 22-feet with bolt-ons. Whereas competitive models rely solely on the chrome rods for strength and support, the EZR208 features Carlson’s exclusive extension support system with a high strength tubular frame to which the chrome rods are firmly fixed to. This means the chrome rods only act for fluid inboard and outboard motion, while the high strength frame provides leading extension rigidity and elimination of flex at wide widths.

Carlson, long a leader in providing crews intuitive platforms for safer, more comfortable operation, continues to do so with its new 8-foot rear mount platform. Featuring deep telescoping walkways, the EZR208 creates a safer operating platform while the low profile extensions provide leading line of sight to the paver’s augers and head of material. Operator comfort is furthered by the standard equipped vibration absorption pads located at each operator station. Conveniently located cup holders, tool trays and legendary Carlson oven, available for most tractor builds, all come standard to make the EZR208 the leading 8-foot rear mount platform for comfort, performance, and safety.

The EZR208, like all Carlson screeds, is available through any North American dealer that carries a major highway-class paver line.
