Carlson Paving Products, Inc., an Astec Industries company, unveiled the CP65 wheel asphalt paver at CONEXPO/CONAGG 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The introduction of the platform for the Western Hemisphere, the CP65 represents Carlson’s entry into the global asphalt paver market with its first every high compaction tamper bar screed.
“Carlson was excited to introduce the CP60 wheel asphalt paver, this paver’s sister model, at Bauma 2019,” explained Travis Colwell, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Carlson. “But the introduction of the CP65 here in Las Vegas, with its many standard features and tamper bar screed, truly is the introduction of Carlson to a global customer base.”
Long a pioneer in small paver platforms, the company has leveraged its technologies and philosophy into a global 1.8m paver model. The paver’s narrow width combined with impressive traction effort with standard Front Wheel Assist lend to leading versatility across a wide range of paving applications. Combined with exclusive technologies, including Carlson’s EZPaveTM dynamic pave speed control and onboard diagnostics, the CP65 delivers a smarter, more reliable and user friendly platform for contractors.
Unique to the CP65 wheel asphalt paver is its exclusive EZC34 TV high compaction screed. A single tamper bar platform, Carlson’s first entrance into the high compaction market, the EZC34 TV screed features a standard pave width of 5’10”-11’2” (1.8m-3.4m). The screed showcases many of Carlson’s leading technologies and screed characteristics, including the most slide bushing contact in the industry and oversized components for holding level longer than competitive platforms. Partnered with spring loaded heated endgates, power screed functions and deep screed plates, the EZC34 TV achieves the superior mat quality and reliability that customers around the world come to expect from a Carlson screed.
The CP65, as well as the CP60 wheel asphalt paver, are expected to be released for sale in Fall 2020 and available through Carlson’s dealer network across North America and internationally.
